"The process of preparing for the election continues to be echoed by the media," said Director of Communication of Indonesia IndicatorRustika Herlambangsaat explaining the results of the "Indonesia Recap 2022" research in Jakarta, Friday.

The results of this research showed that from a total of 20,194,242 news presented by 8,244 online media in Indonesia during the period from January 1 to December 20, 2022, news about the 2024 Simultaneous Elections reached 973,647 news.

According to Rustika, some of the topics reported related to the 2024 election include the political strategy of the elites towards the election as well as the process of preparing, socializing, and implementing the election agenda.

Then, it was also reported about the contestation of political figures who want to run for president and vice president, as well as about reports on the research results of various survey agencies, interparty coalition discourse, political party verification, and election supervision.

"This shows that the media as agents of change and the fourth pillar of democracy remain important in overseeing the transition of national and regional leadership in the 2024 elections," he said.

Although the elections take place in 2024, political tensions have been felt throughout 2022. The issue of elections and the contestation of presidential elections and presidential elections are issues that always exist every day and move dynamically in the news.

The figure who will fight in the 2024 election also occupies a significant position in the Indonesian news.

Throughout 2022, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) claimed to have saved state and regional finances worth IDR 63.9 trillion with total assets of 83,052 units.
